On May 1, 2024 CAFA Graduation Season was officially unveiled at CAFA Art Museum. Just as the theme “Direction of the Heart” contains good wishes and sincere expectations for Class of 2024 at CAFA, 2024 CAFA Graduation Season does not only contain their art achievements, their enthusiasm and perseverance in creation are also reflected, which further conveys the imagination and expectations of young students as they embark on the road to the future.

Ephemeral Genesis

My work is named “Ephemeral Genesis” and it is based on discussions around the artificial intelligence in current epoch, which is intended to express the fate that machines and humans will jointly develop hand in hand. Robotic arms are regarded as the symbol of this epoch in my work, and the hands on the screen symbolize strength, compassion and wisdom, which are the representational expression of our spiritual world.

The Back Side of “Ephemeral Genesis”
With the advancement in science and technology as well as the development of society, science and technology have gradually penetrated into all aspects of the world, and art has also given birth to its new forms of expression under the impact of the epochal torrent. Robotic arms are like hands that have evolved from science and technology that are eager to communicate with the world. How will they coexist with humans? How can humans and machines work together to create more exciting artworks? The combination of robotic arms and art is not only a collision between technology and art, but also a reflection and exploration of the progress of human civilization and social values.

I have endowed the image of “hands” with stories of life and love. There are three hands on the screen, they respectively symbolize “me,” “me and others,” “me and all living beings.” No matter how it is operated, it represents the process that we always seek our own integrity and love, all sentient beings save me and I repay them with love.
Chapter I of “Ephemeral Genesis”
The theme of Chapter I is “The Origin of Life” which prays for inner peace.
Chapter II of “Ephemeral Genesis”
The theme of Chapter II is “Resonance of Love” which shows the connection among people.
Chapter III of “Ephemeral Genesis”
The theme of Chapter III is “Continuation of Love” which presents the relations in society. When you open yourself up to communicate with the world, you will find that the world also loves you quietly.
