All the members at CAFA are accustomed to honoring our mentors as “misters”, and “senior misters” are the idols revered by all of us. Misters’ persuasive and sincere teachings have continuously introduced young students to the art world; generations of students insist on diligent pursuit by following misters’ instructions, which ensures that the misters never leave the classrooms. As time goes by, the younger generations of students gradually become misters, inheriting the glorious tradition and continuing the centennial academic lineage.
Xu Yang, Secretary of the CAFA Party Committee, Lin Mao, President of CAFA, Liu Peiyuan, Deputy Secretary of the CAFA Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, Wang Xiaolin, Deputy Secretary of the CAFA Party Committee, Pan Chenghui, Assistant to the CAFA President, and heads of relevant schools and departments attended the activities.
Ushering in a new chapter of “CAFA Misters & New Epoch”, “The Spirit of Educators Never Stops: CAFA Teaching Heritage Exhibition” is exactly a vivid reflection of the aesthetic education practices, inheritance of aesthetic education ideals, and promotion of aesthetic education spirit based on CAFA’s centennial academic heritage. With the inter-textual duo of “teacher and student”, the exhibition tells the inheritance stories of teachers and students from the School of Chinese Painting, the School of Calligraphy, the Department of Oil Painting, the Printmaking Department, the Department of Sculpture, the Department of Mural, and the Fundamental Department of Plastic Arts, striving to outline a clear academic context and vivid inheritance relationship, which further comprehensively demonstrates the aesthetic education scroll drawn by “what misters have taught,” and “what are learned by young students.”
The exhibition remains on view until November 1st, 2024.
